2.30pm at Holy Trinity Church Hall, Claygate KT10 0JP

Mince pies and mulled wine

£3 per head for non members

A different style of Christmas meeting is planned for this year. Members of the audience are invited to play an active part if they would like to do so (but absolutely no pressure on those who do not wish to!). Local newspapers of earlier times contain full, well written and accurate descriptions of events. Those taking place around Christmas provide details of the ways in which local inhabitants celebrated the season. There are also darker events that sometimes took place at such times! A selection of ‘snippets’ of news regarding Esher, Claygate and the Dittons have been selected. These will be read by volunteer members of the audience, with links by the interlocutor to place the events in context. Scripts will be available for those taking part in the readings by the November meeting. A few people have been approached in this respect already but more will be needed.

If you would like to participate please give your name to Janet Heskins either at the October meeting or by sending an email to: janetheski@aol.com
