52ND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Saturday 18th April at 2.30pm at Holy Trinity Church Hall, Claygate, KT10 0JP

We hope all Current Officers and Committee Members of EDLHS  will be willing to continue in these roles for the coming year.
Any new nominations may be sent to the Chairman, Terry Gale, together with the proposer’s and seconder’s signature and that of the accepting nominee, or may be made in person at the AGM. Additional Committee Members would be extremely welcome, so do please let us know if you are willing to volunteer!

The AGM will be followed by a talk given
by Dr Alan Wright on
TRAVELLING THROUGH THE ARCHIVES – GYPSIES IN VICTORIAN AND EDWARDIAN SURREY

Gypsies were seen by part of the settled community in Victorian and Edwardian Surrey as a distinct and growing nuisance. The talk will explore why this perception emerged and manifested itself, as well as highlighting some of the problems and opportunities involved in researching the county’s itinerant populations.
