Tragically it’s been almost forgotten how this social activist and women’s suffrage campaigner, with her girls from the London slums, rescued Morris dancing from obscurity and probable extinction and spread it throughout the country. And there’s a local connection: the group spent much time at Holmwood in the Surrey Hills.
